(Ramin Talaie\/Corbis via Getty Images)<\/p>\n<p data-layout-index=\"5\">It also alleged the company paid certain employees more than workers of other races with the same experience and skills and, before March 2024, tied executive bonuses to diversity goals.<\/p>\n<p data-layout-index=\"5\">For fiscal year 2024, the lawsuit alleged that bonus criteria included executives mentoring Black, Indigenous and other employees of color, holding monthly meetings with mentees and keeping retention among those workers above a stated threshold.<\/p>\n<p data-layout-index=\"5\"><a data-omtr-intcmp=\"fnc_politics_article_main-content_article-body_6_574803\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/trump-administration-accuses-prestigious-law-school-favoring-black-applicants-over-white-asian-peers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">TRUMP ADMINISTRATION ACCUSES PRESTIGIOUS LAW SCHOOL OF FAVORING BLACK APPLICANTS OVER WHITE, ASIAN PEERS<\/a><\/p>\n<p data-layout-index=\"5\">The complaint further alleged that Florida Starbucks employees and job applicants contacted the attorney general&#8217;s office and reported feeling excluded or humiliated because they were White. Starbucks operates more than 900 stores in Florida, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n<p data-layout-index=\"5\"><a data-omtr-intcmp=\"fnc_politics_article_main-content_article-body_6_574806\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/trump-administration-proposes-stripping-tax-exempt-status-schools-using-race-based-programs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">TRUMP ADMINISTRATION PROPOSES STRIPPING TAX-EXEMPT STATUS FROM SCHOOLS USING RACE-BASED PROGRAMS<\/a><\/p>\n<p data-layout-index=\"5\">The effort began in 2024 under then-Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody, now a Republican U.S. senator, after she called for an <a data-omtr-intcmp=\"fnc_politics_article_main-content_article-body_6_574807\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/outkick-sports\/florida-attorney-general-subpoenas-nfl-part-new-probe-rooney-rule-dei-programs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">investigation into the company&#8217;s hiring practices<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p data-layout-index=\"5\">Florida was not the only state to challenge Starbucks&#8217; DEI policies. Then-Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey filed a <a data-omtr-intcmp=\"fnc_politics_article_main-content_article-body_6_574808\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/new-york-times-sued-federal-government-over-alleged-dei-related-employment-discrimination\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">separate federal lawsuit<\/a> in February 2025 alleging the company used race and sex-based hiring quotas and unlawfully tied executive pay to diversity targets.<\/p>\n<p data-layout-index=\"5\"><a data-omtr-intcmp=\"fnc_politics_article_main-content_article-body_6_574809\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/oakland-schools-hotseat-over-students-color-program-while-taking-millions-federal-funding\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">OAKLAND SCHOOLS IN HOT SEAT OVER &#8216;STUDENTS OF COLOR&#8217; PROGRAM WHILE TAKING MILLIONS IN FEDERAL FUNDING<\/a><\/p>\n<p data-layout-index=\"5\">A federal judge dismissed that case in February 2026, finding that Missouri had not identified a resident who was actually harmed by the policies.
