NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, FLA. (WSVN) – Vandals shattered the windows of several vehicles in a gated comunity in Northwest Miami-Dade, triggering an ongoing investigation, and residents said this isn\u2019t the first time they have been targeted.<\/p>\n
Cameras captured shattered windows at Hibiscus Point Apartments, located along the 1300 block of Northwest 79th Street, early Thursday morning.<\/p>\n
Residents were reeling upon discovering their vehicles were broken into and possibly ransacked.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t like it. I don\u2019t like it at all,\u201d said Hiash.\u201dIt\u2019s not one car, but five cars, that\u2019s ridiculous.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen I came outside, I just saw a couple of the neighbors and the police,\u201d said Victoria Fluker.<\/p>\n
Miami-Dade Sheriff\u2019s Office deputies were called to the complex to investigate, as this was not the first time something like this had happened.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have had this problem a few times already now,\u201d said Hiash.<\/p>\n
Residents at the complex received a notice from management that reads in part:<\/p>\n
\u201cWe sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and concern this incident may cause.\u201d<\/p>\n
It went on to list several vehicle safety tips for residents.<\/p>\n
Residents believe the suspected thieves are coming from outside of their community. Now they\u2019re calling for better security at the complex.<\/p>\n
\u201cBecause, you know, people work hard for their property, and, you know, it\u2019s just sad,\u201d said Fluker.<\/p>\n
7News tried to contact the complex\u2019s management office but they rejected the request.<\/p>\n
