This week on Arts Alive! we\u2019re going up close on As We Like It, the drama that\u2019s just started its first weekend (of three) at the intimate LAB Theater Project in Ybor City.<\/p>\n

New Jersey playwright Oded Gross joins us for an in-depth discussion of his play, which takes place in a deep, dark Polish forest during the second world war.<\/p>\n

There, a refugee family is hiding from a Nazi unit that\u2019s hunting them.<\/p>\n

Certain members of the family are determined to distract from the constant fear by recruiting everyone for a woodland performance of Shakespeare\u2019s As You Like It (yes, that\u2019s where Gross\u2019 play gets its title from).<\/p>\n

It\u2019s heady stuff, and emotionally taut.<\/p>\n

Which makes it just the sort of drama LAB\u2019s artistic director Owen Robertson \u2013 who joins Gross for the discussion \u2013 believes is perfect for his intimate, risk-taking black box theater.<\/p>\n
