Deputies responded to a call about a possible shooting just before 6:30 p.m. Neighbors said they initially thought the sirens were coming from their televisions before stepping outside to find the street filled with law enforcement.

“I see 10 cop cars. I see one of my friends talking to the cops. It’s kind of crazy on a regular Thursday night,” said Frank Miranda, a neighbor.

Chopper 4 captured images of deputies surrounding a nearby home, but the sheriff’s office said it could not connect that scene to the shooting.

MDSO spokesperson Daniel Castillo declined to discuss the relationship between the victim and the shooter.

“I’m not going to get into the relationships of those who were involved, but what I can tell you is this is an isolated incident, and there is no threat to public safety,” Castillo said.

The sheriff’s office is asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
