However, after being totally embarrassed on national television last week, I would expect the Broncos to come out with plenty of fire and passion for this game.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">Denver Broncos vs. Jacksonville Jaguars<br \/>Sunday, September 20, 2026 at 2:05 P.M. The doomers overcame the bounce-back believers on staff today. Here\u2019s who to disagree (or agree) with in the comments:<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">It\u2019s doom and gloom in Broncos Country after one bad game and they may very well lose this one too given Sean Payton\u2019s track record in September. That said, I think maybe they might be a little pissed off by the way things went down on MNF to open the season and they\u2019ll come out here and punch the Jaguars in the mouth on Sunday giving all the doomers a week to think about how silly their overreactions were after one game.  &#8211; Tim Lynch<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">The Broncos defense is lost. They are facing a Jaguar team that is a far more complete opponent than who they faced last week. The offense looks disjointed and in need of a few weeks to get online. Alas, after their brutal loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday Night Football, I am not sure they are going to be able to rebound on a short week. They seemingly have way too many issues to fix. Jacksonville is a good team. Trevor Lawrence is playing well, and they have an opportunistic defense that is great at stopping the run. All things considered, I believe the Jaguars will find a way to topple the Broncos in Week 2. I would like to think that Week 1 is still just a glorified preseason game, but that was ugly. Jacksonville could present another difficult task, and beat up on a well prepared Broncos team last year. It\u2019s hard to feel confident in this team right now, so I won\u2019t try and be Johnny Sunshine here. Since week 10 of last year, he\u2019s scored four more total touchdowns than any other QB, is first in passer rating and 3rd in yards per attempt.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">Last week he picked up where he left off and continued looking dominant, so Denver\u2019s defense has their work cut out for them. Ordinarily, I\u2019d say after a performance like last week, the Broncos will have a bounce back get right game after going from a top unit last season to being embarrassed in primetime.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">However, I don\u2019t think this is the QB or game to get right and I think the panic continues for at least another week as the offense continues to sputter and the defense can\u2019t overcome the hot Jaguars. &#8211; Jeff Essary<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">If not just for saving this thread, but this is a week to week league. Yes, the Broncos were embarrassed in KC. Even more motivation is Denver was embarrassed by the Jags at home last season. Every issue Denver faces is correctable. This isn\u2019t rocket science. And tackling is not connected to talent, it\u2019s about effort. I have no doubt that Payton and the leaders had their come to Jesus meeting on Tuesday. As Nix said after the game, the Chiefs loss was a nasty wake up call. The Broncos got the alert and will respond on Sunday.
