It also bars <a href=\"https:\/\/library.municode.com\/fl\/st._petersburg\/codes\/code_of_ordinances?nodeId=PTIISTPECO_CH2AD_ARTVPUCOET_DIV1PRCO_S2-195SMPU\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer nofollow\">dividing a purchase<\/a> to get under a dollar threshold. Whether the heavy-vehicle work came out before bids were due or after they were opened was not addressed Thursday.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Harting said the contract falls under the threshold for Council approval.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cI think historically, and I\u2019m glad to be wrong on this, I think historically, this has come to Council,\u201d he said. \u201cAs I understand it, it\u2019s less than $100,000. Now it\u2019ll be much less than $100,000. Now it\u2019s not going to come to Council. I have been told that this definitely won\u2019t be coming to Council. It possibly was coming in the middle of October.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Under the code, the Mayor approves contracts of $100,000 or less. Council approves anything larger.
