FORT MYERS, Fla. (WINK) \u2014 A man was arrested following a stabbing in downtown Fort Myers late Thursday night.<\/p>\n
Fort Myers Police Officer Cohen was flagged down by a bystander around 11:52 p.m. who reported a man had been stabbed near Main Street.<\/p>\n
Officer Cohen found the victim suffering from serious lacerations and provided medical aid until Lee County EMS arrived and transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment.<\/p>\n
Officers worked quickly to locate the suspect. With assistance from the department’s Intelligence Unit, officers tracked the suspect’s movements as he fled the area.<\/p>\n
Within minutes, Officer Smith located and detained a man matching the suspect’s description near Crawford Street and Cleveland Avenue. The man was later identified as Marcel Dumel Jr., 41.<\/p>\n
Dumel was arrested for Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon and transported to the Lee County Jail.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"FORT MYERS, Fla.
