He previously served as vice chair and succeeds David Hodges Jr. Acosta-Rua was appointed to the board by Gov. Ron DeSantis in 2021. He is a principal and shareholder with Heritage Capital Group.<\/p>\n<p><img alt=\"\"  loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" role=\"presentation\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/FD6B6N2YFFACVDACM6BPNDDINQ.jpg\"\/>Fernando Acosta-Rua is the newly elected JAA board chair. He was appointed to the board by Mayor Donna Deegan in 2023 and is a retired dentist.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-dLMFU sc-fHjqPf jbiTJv kYFPaL article-text\">Andy Hofheimer will serve as secretary. Deegan appointed him to the board in 2023. Hofheimer is principal at Sitehawks.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-dLMFU sc-fHjqPf jbiTJv kYFPaL article-text\">Matt Connell will serve as treasurer. DeSantis appointed him to the board in 2020. Connell is co-founder and CEO of Total Military Management, a Jacksonville-based logistics company.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-dLMFU sc-fHjqPf jbiTJv kYFPaL article-text\">The JAA board has seven members. The mayor appoints three members, while the governor appoints four.
