ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. \u2013 In a report by the Bicycle Accident Lawyers Group<\/a> this week, the most dangerous roads in Orange County may have been revealed.<\/p>\n

The report uses federal<\/a>, state<\/a> and local crash data<\/a> to determine which areas of the nation are deadliest for bikers and pedestrians.<\/p>\n

According to the law firm, Florida ranked as the most dangerous state for bicyclists, with over 230 fatal crashes in 2023 alone.<\/p>\n

\u201cOver 0.5% of people across Florida use their bicycles to get to work daily. Yet, more than two hundred bike riders die on local roads annually, and over and around 9K get serious injuries<\/a>. That is one of the worst indicators in America. <\/p>\n

High-speed roads in the state are among the major contributing factors to such unfavorable stats. In 2024, Florida was ranked 8th<\/a> on the National Bicycle Friendly State list, because of the local authorities\u2019 efforts to improve the situation, but it remains grim.”<\/p>\n

But within Florida, some places are safer than others.<\/p>\n

Last year, Orange County released an \u201cAction Plan<\/a>\u201d that listed the Orlando-Kissimmee-Sanford metro as one of the deadliest areas of the state for car crashes.<\/p>\n

While Orange County isn\u2019t the worst offender in the region per capita, state data shows that it had the greatest number of total deadly crashes in Central Florida last year<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Action Plan, which examines data between 2018 and 2022, reveals that a disproportionate number of KSI (\u201cKilled or Seriously Injured\u201d) crashes happened along a select number of roadways.<\/p>\n

In fact, roughly 45% of all crashes and 65% of KSI crashes during this time happened along this road network, the report states.<\/p>\n

Of the most concerning roadways listed in the Action Plan, the top 25 deadliest are as follows:<\/p>\n
