A new spot to watch near Africa<\/p>\n

The center of Tropical Storm Fay was located near latitude 33.1 North, longitude 32.2 West. Fay is moving toward the south-southwest near 3 mph and a gradual turn toward the southwest and west is expected during the next few days. <\/p>\n

Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 45 mph with higher gusts.<\/p>\n

Fay is likely to degenerate into a post-tropical remnant low by late Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 80 miles from the center.<\/p>\n

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1004 mb.<\/p>\n

There are no coastal watches or warnings in effect.<\/p>\n

In the far Eastern Tropical Atlantic, a tropical wave is forecast to move off western Africa by Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Development of this system should be slow to occur while it moves near the Cabo Verde Islands later this week.<\/p>\n

The formation chance through 48 hours is 0 percent and the formation chance through 7 days is 30 percent.<\/p>\n
