At least in Florida.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">First, on Monday, the <a href=\"https:\/\/brobible.com\/sports\/article\/miami-hurricanes-adidas-jerseys-2001-national-champions\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Miami Hurricanes revealed new Adidas uniforms<\/a> honoring the team\u2019s legendary 2001 National Champions. Then, just a few hours later, the <a href=\"https:\/\/brobible.com\/tag\/tampa-bay-rays\/\" data-type=\"post_tag\" data-id=\"46391094\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Tampa Bay Rays<\/a> announced that they will be throwing it back to 1998 with new road uniforms that they will be wearing for the rest of the 2026 Major League Baseball season.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Rays announced that their new primary road jerseys will have a gradient color scheme and the words \u201cTampa Bay\u201d across the chest, which was a feature of their jerseys during the team\u2019s 1998 American League debut. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The team will begin wearing them during the second game of a doubleheader against the <a href=\"https:\/\/brobible.com\/tag\/new-york-yankees\/\" data-type=\"post_tag\" data-id=\"34771028\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">New York Yankees<\/a> on Tuesday and serve as the Rays\u2019 primary road uniforms moving forward. The Rays could clinch their first American League East championship since 2021 on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The Tampa Bay Rays have released a new road uniform that they will debut on Tuesday night at Yankee Stadium \ud83d\ude2e<\/p>\n<p>They will serve as the Rays&#8217; primary road uniforms moving forward \ud83d\udd25 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/kNjpdp5a12\" rel=\"nofollow\">pic.twitter.com\/kNjpdp5a12<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 MLB (@MLB) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/MLB\/status\/2102110980528365782?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow\">September 21, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThese uniforms celebrate our long-term commitment to Tampa Bay,\u201d Rays CEO Ken Babby <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/athletic\/7617806\/2026\/09\/21\/rays-road-jersey-design-tampa-bay\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">said<\/a>. \u201cAs our team travels the country, we do so with tremendous admiration for our home. Tampa Bay is always in our hearts, and that\u2019s why we will wear it across our chest.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>About the only thing missing is the \u2018Devil\u2019<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since rebranding and removing the \u201cDevil\u201d from their team name in 2007, the Rays have not worn \u201cTampa Bay\u201d on a primary jersey. These gray jerseys are a contemporary version of the ones the Devil Rays wore from 1998 to 2000.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Additionally, the team\u2019s helmet and cap will be modernized versions of the Devil Rays\u2019 1998 uniforms, just replacing most of the black coloring with the team\u2019s more contemporary navy blue.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Earlier this year, the Rays ran surveys on their social media platforms asking fans for their thoughts on four different designs. They ultimately chose the jersey the Rays will wear.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe are particularly proud that our fans helped choose this design and we love the fact they want the baseball world to see \u2018Tampa Bay\u2019 when we play on the road,\u201d Babby said.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t<script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Getty Image Everything old is new again.
