A Flagler County woman who was wrongfully arrested for a crash that she did not commit earlier this year will go before a Senate hearing on surveillance cameras Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Lindsey Isaacs, 23, will appear before the Senate Judiciary Committee\u2019s Subcommittee on Crime and Terrorism <\/a>at 2:30 p.m. <\/p>\n

The hearing is called \u201cAlways Watching: Flock\u2019s Nationwide AI Surveillance Network.\u201d The hearing will stream live on the Senate website.<\/a><\/p>\n

Isaacs was arrested in April and accused of driving the SUV involved in an October 2025 crash on Interstate 4 near DeBary that killed three people. She spent 13 days in jail and two weeks out on bond <\/a>before the charges were dropped.<\/p>\n

The Florida Highway Patrol later arrested another woman who investigators said was actually driving the vehicle that caused the crash. Isaacs\u2019 attorney said location data and the timing of the incident showed Isaacs could not have been at the scene.<\/p>\n

Isaacs is suing the Florida Highway Patrol<\/a>, accusing troopers of ignoring evidence and basing the arrest on damage to Isaacs\u2019 black Dodge Durango. Witnesses described the SUV involved in the crash as being black, and her vehicle had appeared on nearby Flock cameras around the time of the crash.<\/p>\n

However, investigators now say the actual suspect was driving a maroon Durango. <\/p>\n

The hearing comes amid growing backlash nationwide against surveillance cameras and license plate readers, particularly those run by Flock. Florida recently ordered local governments to remove the cameras from state roadways. Many county and city governments have canceled contracts with Flock and other camera companies in response.<\/p>\n
