{"id":408254,"date":"2026-09-23T13:52:11","date_gmt":"2026-09-23T13:52:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/408254\/"},"modified":"2026-09-23T13:52:11","modified_gmt":"2026-09-23T13:52:11","slug":"single-family-construction-permits-up-in-august-tallahassee-reports","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/408254\/","title":{"rendered":"Single-Family Construction Permits Up in August \u2013 Tallahassee Reports"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>                        <img width=\"650\" height=\"394\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Construction-1.png\" class=\"attachment-large size-large wp-post-image\" alt=\"\" decoding=\"async\" fetchpriority=\"high\"  \/>                                            <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the latest filings with Leon County and the City of Tallahassee, the number of single-family construction permits issued in 2026 continue to outpace the permits issued in 2024 and 2025.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">August Permits<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For the month of August, the number of single-family residential construction permits were up 20.5% when compared to August 2025. There were 47 permits issued in August 2026, compared to 39 permits issued one year ago.\u00a0There were\u00a073 permits issued last month, July 2026.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 3-Mnth Avg. data (Jun. \u2013 Aug.), which smooths out the month-to-month volatility, shows a 29.6% increase in the number of permits issued over the same 3-month period one year ago.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Permit-Table.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"704\" height=\"294\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Permit-Table.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-247124\" style=\"width:584px;height:auto\"  \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">August Permit Value<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The August permit value was down 34.3%, from $13.4 mill in August 2025 to $8.8 million in 2026.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 3-Mnth Avg. data show a 2.2% decrease in monthly average permit value during this period. The 3-month average permit values decreased from $13.7 million in August 2025 to $13.4 million in August 2026.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Long Term Trend<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The chart below shows the number of permits issued each month for the last 37-month period. A 3-month average line is also included. The highlighted numbers relate to permits issued in the month of June back to 2023.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The chart shows that the 3-month average declining trend that began in June 2025 has been reversed.
