{"id":408306,"date":"2026-09-23T14:56:40","date_gmt":"2026-09-23T14:56:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/408306\/"},"modified":"2026-09-23T14:56:40","modified_gmt":"2026-09-23T14:56:40","slug":"convicted-felon-arrested-for-murder-of-28-year-old-in-jacksonville","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/408306\/","title":{"rendered":"Convicted felon arrested for murder of 28-year-old in Jacksonville"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2014 On Thursday, officers with the Jacksonville Sherriff&#8217;s Office arrested 35-year-old Mark Mulliens for his alleged involvement in the May murder of 28-year-old Jarrius Brown.<\/p>\n<p>According to JSO, on May 17, officers responded to a shooting at a home on Mayfair Road, near Beach Boulevard. At the scene, officers found Brown suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was then rushed to a local hospital, where he died of his injuries.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>                                            &#13;<br \/>\n                                                <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.firstcoastnews.com\/assets\/shared-images\/icons\/arrow-circle-down.svg\" alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\"\/>&#13;<\/p>\n<p>                                            &#13;<br \/>\n                                                This story continues below.&#13;<\/p>\n<p>JSO said its investigation revealed Brown was in a fight with Mulliens, which escalated and led to Mulliens shooting Brown.<\/p>\n<p>Detectives arrested Mulliens 10 days after the shooting, for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, while building the murder case against him.
