{"id":408442,"date":"2026-09-23T17:40:52","date_gmt":"2026-09-23T17:40:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/408442\/"},"modified":"2026-09-23T17:40:52","modified_gmt":"2026-09-23T17:40:52","slug":"florida-high-school-student-arrested-for-false-bomb-threat","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/408442\/","title":{"rendered":"Florida high school student arrested for false bomb threat"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Martin County High School student arrested for false bomb threat at school<\/p>\n<p>A 15-year-old Martin County High School sophomore was arrested for making a false bomb threat, according to the sheriff\u2019s office.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/1790185252_78_author_avatar.png\" width=\"48\" height=\"48\" alt=\"Malcolm Shields\" loading=\"lazy\"\/>STUART, Fla. \u2014<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"0\">The Martin County Sheriff&#8217;s Office announced on Tuesday, Sept. 22, that it arrested a 15-year-old Martin County High School student in connection with a false bomb threat made against the school.<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"1\">The sheriff\u2019s office said its school resource officers and criminal investigations division traced the originator of the message back to the 15-year-old student, who is a sophomore at the school.<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"2\">WPBF 25 News is not publishing the name of the suspect because the student is under the age of 18 and has not been charged as an adult.<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"3\">Stay up-to-date: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wpbf.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The latest headlines and weather from WPBF 25<\/a><\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"4\">The sheriff\u2019s office said the student confessed to sending the hoax threat. The student is facing a charge of false report concerning the planting of a bomb, which is a second-degree felony.<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"6\">\u201cThis arrest follows multiple hoax bomb threats involving schools in our area over the past several weeks.
