After a standoff, Jacksonville police today arrested a man wanted for the high-profile murder of a prominent Atlanta club owner in 2023.<\/p>\n
Police from Jacksonville and Atlanta and U.S. marshals used an energetic door breach to grab Jonathan Soto, 43, from inside an apartment on Gate Parkway North.<\/p>\n
Soto was one of the Atlanta Police Department\u2019s most wanted for the highly publicized murder in 2023 of Michael Gidewon, 50, a co-owner of the popular Republic Lounge in Atlanta.<\/p>\n
Soto has been booked into the Duval County Jail, police said in a news release.<\/p>\n
The murder in February 2023 occurred after an individual was escorted out of the popular nightclub after an argument and due to intoxication, police said.<\/p>\n
According to reports, the same man return with a gun and shot Gidewon dead outside the club at 7 a.m..<\/p>\n
