TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – People in Tallahassee are mourning the loss of a beloved staple in the city\u2019s restaurant community.<\/p>\n
George Koikos died this week. He was the longtime owner of Georgio\u2019s, with a deep culinary history in the city, with memories all throughout the restaurant.<\/p>\n
George\u2019s niece, Sara Koikos Hill, said her uncle embraced everyone who walked through the doors of his restaurant.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe was the kindest, sweetest man,\u201d Sara said. \u201cIn fact, if you look over my social media accounts accounts everybody said the same thing. That he\u2019s the nicest, sweetest man. He made everybody that came in this restaurant feel welcome.<\/p>\n
George immigrated from Greece and started working with his brother in Tallahassee. He later opened several restaurants, including the Spartan, Brothers Three and of course, Georgio\u2019s.<\/p>\n
