Eddie Rodriguez, emphasizing the man did not escape the deputy&#8217;s custody.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">When Brown reached the parking lot, he ran up to a woman getting out of her car and forced himself inside and drove off, Rodriguez said. There were no reported injuries, according to police.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Brown ran at least one red light and hit at least one car as he was fleeing, Miami Herald news partner <a data-ylk=\"slk:CBS News Miami reported;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;\" data-yga=\"{&quot;yLinkElement&quot;:&quot;link&quot;,&quot;yLinkElementType&quot;:&quot;article_link&quot;}\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/miami\/news\/miami-dade-pursuit-hialeah-hospital-carjacking-september-2026\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">CBS News Miami reported<\/a>. The station interviewed the driver of one of the cars that Brown hit.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">&#8220;They were chasing someone; no, he came through and hit me and hit a sign and kept going,&#8221; Ysidro Reyes said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Hialeah police say they were not part of the pursuit once Brown left city limits, and the Florida Highway Patrol and Miami-Dade Sheriff&#8217;s Office took over.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Video captured on several news stations&#8217; helicopters showed deputies and troopers attempting PIT maneuvers \u2014 using the front of cruisers to disable fleeing cars \u2014 to stop the black Nissan sedan.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Troopers were finally able to execute a successful PIT maneuver near Northwest 79th Street and 17th Avenue.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Hialeah police say they are investigating the carjacking and hit-and-runs.
