(WSVN) &#8211; A driver accused of leading authorities on a <a href=\"https:\/\/wsvn.com\/news\/local\/miami-dade\/baker-acted-patient-in-custody-after-carjacking-at-palmetto-general-hospital-intense-pursuit-across-hialeah-nw-miami-dade\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">reckless pursuit across Hialeah and Northwest Miami-Dade<\/a> in a car he allegedly carjacked outside of a hospital appeared in court.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thirty-five-year-old Jordan Brown stood before Miami-Dade Circuit Court Judge Mindy S. Glazer, Friday morning, less than 24 hours after the spiraling chain of events involving law enforcement officers from multiple agencies.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to Hialeah Police, Brown had been Baker Acted and brought to Palmetto General Hospital, Thursday morning.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Detectives said the suspect escaped and ran toward a woman who was sitting in her black Nissan Sentra in the parking lot of the hospital.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cHe grabbed her out of her car and threw her to the ground,\u201d said Glazer as she read from the arrest report.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Moments later, police said, Brown drove off.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">7Skyforce was overhead as Miami-Dade Sheriff\u2019s Office deputies and troopers with Florida Highway Patrol went after Brown for several miles.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Troopers attempted to stop the suspect several times with multiple failed Precision Immobilization Technique maneuvers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The pursuit ultimately came to an end at the intersection of Northwest 79th Street and 17th Avenue in Northwest Miami-Dade.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He was still in his hospital scrubs when deputies pulled him out of the Sentra and took him into custody.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In court Friday, Brown\u2019s public defender pointed to her client\u2019s mental health when it came to assigning bond.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI don\u2019t think it\u2019s appropriate this time to increase Mr. Brown\u2019s bond when he\u2019s undergoing a mental health crisis and not receiving the treatment he needed,\u201d said Brown\u2019s public defender.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But Glazer did not see it this way.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cSo you\u2019re saying its the hospital\u2019s fault he stole a car?\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Brown is facing a list of charges, including burglary, robbery, battery, and fleeing and eluding.
