See the deal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The GOAT is expanding his footprint in Fort Lauderdale.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">A company linked to Lionel Messi, the Argentine soccer star and captain of Inter Miami, bought a house next door to one he already owns in Fort Lauderdale&#8217;s gated Bay Colony neighborhood.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">A deed recorded in Broward County shows Sadani LLC, a <a data-ylk=\"slk:company reportedly managed by Messi&#039;s wealth manager;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;\" data-yga=\"{&quot;yLinkElement&quot;:&quot;link&quot;,&quot;yLinkElementType&quot;:&quot;article_link&quot;}\" href=\"https:\/\/therealdeal.com\/miami\/2026\/09\/24\/entity-linked-to-lionel-messi-buys-fort-lauderdale-home\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">company reportedly managed by Messi&#8217;s wealth manager<\/a>, paid $8 million for the Compass Lane home. The news of the purchase was first reported by The Real Deal.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Messi bought the adjacent home for $10.8 million three years ago using the same LLC. He bought the property not long after he announced he&#8217;d be joining Inter Miami.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Since then, Messi, along with his wife, Antonela Roccuzzo, and their three sons, has spent much of his time in South Florida.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Both Compass Lane homes have waterfront access on one of Bay Colony&#8217;s many canals. The home Messi bought earlier this month was last purchased by Michael and Michelle Nelson in 2013 for $2.7 million. The house has seven bedrooms and spans more than 7,600 square feet, according to a Zillow listing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Purchasing adjacent properties has become a popular strategy for celebrities and wealthy homebuyers in South Florida looking for space and privacy. Billionaire Ken Griffin has bought neighboring properties in Palm Beach to create a massive waterfront estate, and Spanish singer Enrique Iglesias has been buying adjacent properties in Miami&#8217;s Bay Point neighborhood for years.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Messi, one of the greatest players of all time, led Argentina to a World Cup victory in 2022 and a second-place finish in this year&#8217;s global tournament.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Last month, Messi, 39, announced he was retiring from international soccer, though he plans to continue playing club soccer.
