{"id":410766,"date":"2026-09-25T23:00:10","date_gmt":"2026-09-25T23:00:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/410766\/"},"modified":"2026-09-25T23:00:10","modified_gmt":"2026-09-25T23:00:10","slug":"holtz-childrens-hospital-hosts-3rd-annual-parade-honoring-childhood-cancer-awareness-month-wsvn-7news-miami-news-weather-sports","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/410766\/","title":{"rendered":"Holtz Children\u2019s Hospital hosts 3rd annual parade honoring Childhood Cancer Awareness Month &#8211; WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">MIAMI (WSVN) &#8211; Holtz Children\u2019s Hospital brought the community together Friday morning to honor Childhood Cancer Awareness Month with a parade.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hospital workers and first responders joined for the third annual Holtz Children\u2019s Hospital Heroes Parade &amp; Emergency Vehicle Expo.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The parade celebrates the hospital\u2019s pediatric patients and raises the volume on awareness for all childhood cancer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rescue vehicles and first responders from throughout South Florida circled the area with sirens ablaze. Even the City of Miami mayor, Eileen Higgins, joined firefighters in greeting the children.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After the parade, patients and their families got to explore the vehicles and meet their community\u2019s first responders.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt\u2019s really an honor for us to celebrate the true heroes, the children and their families, some who are undergoing treatment here at Holtz children, who do such a great job,\u201d said Miami Fire Rescue Chief Robert Hevia. \u201cAnd it\u2019s really a day for them to bring our superheroes out and really have one day to celebrate our heroes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some beloved local mascots also made an appearance, like the Miami Heat\u2019s own fuzzy orange mascot, Burnie.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 Sunbeam Television Corp.
