JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2013 A math teacher at Darnell-Cookman School of the Medical Arts was arrested Friday in connection with an investigation involving alleged offenses against students, according to Jacksonville Sheriff\u2019s Office jail records and a message sent to families.<\/p>\n
In a message to families, Darnell-Cookman Principal Paul Davis said the arrest of Brian Orr followed an active investigation by DCPS Police and the Jacksonville Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n
RELATED | Duval County Schools superintendent vows swift action against employee misconduct<\/a> | First Coast substitute teacher arrested, accused of having sexual relations with student<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cBecause the investigation is ongoing, I am limited in the information I can share at this time,\u201d Davis said. \u201cHowever, I will continue to communicate with our school community as additional verified information becomes available and when appropriate.\u201d<\/p>\n Davis said school officials are cooperating with law enforcement and that the safety and well-being of students and staff remain the school\u2019s highest priority.<\/p>\n Orr faces three felony charges:<\/p>\n Offenses against students by an authority figure, a second-degree felony<\/p>\n Lewd and lascivious touching of a victim who is 16 or 17 years old by a person 24 or older, a third-degree felony<\/p>\n Child abuse, a third-degree felony<\/p>\n We have requested the arrest report to learn more.<\/p>\n His next court date is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Oct. 15.<\/p>\n Copyright 2026 by WJXT News4JAX – All rights reserved.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Former Duval County Public Schools officer arrested.
