\nWire 3 supersizes their Port St. Lucie build plans<\/p>\n
Demand from residents and businesses in Port St. Lucie, Florida has led Wire 3 to expand their build plans for the community, the ISP announced Friday<\/a>.<\/p>\n With the announcement, Wire 3 says their investment in Port St. Lucie County has increased to $120 million.<\/p>\n \u201cPort St. Lucie asked for more Wire 3 fiber, and we\u2019re here to deliver,\u201d said Jai Ramachandran, Wire 3 CEO. \u201cThe community\u2019s response to our initial build has been tremendous, and we\u2019re excited to bring our 100% fiber network to even more neighborhoods, homes, and businesses. We look forward to continuing to grow alongside Port St. Lucie and bring the future of internet to more Floridians.\u201d<\/p>\n Wire 3 says the expansion will extend fiber to thousands of additional homes and businesses in the area, though exact timelines weren\u2019t disclosed in their release.<\/p>\n September 23, 2026 Some Cape Cod residents will soon have access to fiber internet provided by Gateway Fiber, the ISP announced Wednesday<\/a>.<\/p>\n Gateway says they\u2019ll first construct and activate their fiber network in Falmouth, with later plans to expand to Barnstable and Yarmouth.<\/p>\n Courtney Bird, chair of the Falmouth Broadband Municipal Light Plant, said the news is a huge accomplishment for Falmouth.<\/p>\n \u201cThis milestone reflects a seven-year effort by everyone who worked to bring the community a viable, competitive alternative for 21st-century connectivity,\u201d Bird said. \u201cGateway Fiber will provide that choice, and Falmouth residents and businesses will benefit.\u201d<\/p>\n John Meyer, the chief customer officer for Gateway Fiber, matched Bird\u2019s sense of anticipation.<\/p>\n \u201cCape Cod is exactly the kind of market we\u2019re excited about at Gateway Fiber,\u201d Meyer said. \u201cIt has strong local communities, year-round residents, small businesses, seasonal homeowners and visitors who all need internet they can count on.\u201d<\/p>\n Meyer said Gateway thinks Cape Cod residents deserve a better internet experience with straightforward pricing.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ve built real momentum across Massachusetts, and we\u2019re excited to bring that same commitment to Cape Cod.\u201d<\/p>\n September 22, 2026 A $14 million investment will deploy Optimum\u2019s fiber-optic network services to customers in East Brunswick and South River in New Jersey, the ISP announced Tuesday<\/a>.<\/p>\n East Brunswick Mayor Brad Cohen said his community was happy to welcome Optimum\u2019s investment.<\/p>\n Expanding access to high-speed fiber internet is vital for residents, schools, and businesses, ensuring everyone has the tools and technology to learn, work, and grow,\u201d Cohen said. \u201cWe look forward to seeing the positive impact this expansion will bring \u2013 connecting our neighborhoods and empowering our future.\u201d<\/p>\n The ISP hopes to begin serving fiber customers in both communities by next year.<\/p>\n September 21, 2026 The first customers from South River, New Jersey have joined GoNetspeed\u2019s fiber-optic network, the ISP announced Monday<\/a>.<\/p>\n As a result, GoNetspeed is celebrating with a Family Fun Day at Imperial Music Hall on Thursday, September 24, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. GoNetspeed says residents are invited to the event, which will feature live entertainment, family-friendly activities, local vendors, raffles, giveaways, and opportunities to learn more about GoNetspeed\u2019s network.<\/p>\n The ISP said construction also continues in East Brunswick, New Jersey.<\/p>\n In both communities, GoNetspeed says over 10,500 homes and businesses will eventually gain access to their network.<\/p>\n The company says the work in both Middlesex County communities represents an investment of $13.6 million.<\/p>\n September 18, 2026 Customers in the Missouri communities of Carterville and Webb City will soon have access to plans with symmetrical internet speeds of up to 8 Gbps, Optimum has announced<\/a>.<\/p>\n In addition, Optimum says it\u2019s donating $20,000 to Webb City High School\u2019s Athletics Program.<\/p>\n \u201cWebb City and Carterville are communities with a strong sense of pride and a deep commitment to its students, families and local businesses,\u201d said Jesse Garcia, VP and GM at Optimum. \u201cWe\u2019re proud to be investing in more ways than one\u2014bringing our fastest internet speeds ever to local customers while supporting Webb City High School\u2019s athletics program. We believe strong communities are built when businesses invest in the people and institutions that help them thrive, and we\u2019re honored to play a part in supporting the next generation.\u201d<\/p>\n September 17, 2026 Mediacom has announced to Broadband Communities<\/a> that Gavin Throckmorton will serve as the company\u2019s group vice president of mobile strategy.<\/p>\n According to Mediacom, Throckmorton is a highly experienced telecom executive.<\/p>\n \u201cGavin brings an exceptional depth of mobile experience and a proven track record of building and growing successful businesses,\u201d said Toni Murphy, EVP of operations at September 16, 2026 A privately funded $60 million Florida fiber network being built in Deltona and DeLand is halfway complete, the ISP announced Wednesday<\/a>.<\/p>\n Construction on the network is expected to be completed in 2027, Wire 3 said.<\/p>\n \u201cDeltona and DeLand aren\u2019t just markets to us. They\u2019re communities we\u2019re investing in for the long haul,\u201d said Jai Ramachandran, Wire 3 CEO. \u201cThis $60 million network is privately funded, with no taxpayer dollars and no shortcuts.<\/p>\n September 15, 2026 GoNetspeed\u2019s first customers in Guilford, Connecticut are now connected to the ISP\u2019s network, the provider announced Sept. 15.<\/p>\n A combined $4 million investment has powered the network\u2019s construction in Guilford and Madison, where GoNetspeed says access will be extended to over 4,200 homes and businesses.<\/p>\n \u201cConnecting Guilford to our network means more Connecticut residents can experience the difference GoNetspeed\u2019s 100% fiber internet makes,\u201d said Tom Perrone, GoNetspeed\u2019s COO. \u201cWith our first customers officially online, we\u2019re excited to bring fast, reliable connectivity to even more homes and businesses throughout Guilford, backed by a network built to meet the community\u2019s needs today and into the future.\u201d<\/p>\n September 14, 2026 Over 7,600 new fiber locations were added to Kinetic\u2019s footprint in Fort Bend County, Texas last year, Kinetic announced Monday<\/a>.<\/p>\n With the growth, Kinetic says their network in the area grew by a quarter last year and now passes 40,000 homes in the area.<\/p>\n Stacy Hale, Kinetic\u2019s state operations president, said Sugar Land and the greater Fort Bend area have been a key market for Kinetic.<\/p>\n She also said the area has become an important link in the Houston area\u2019s growing technology corridor.<\/p>\n \u201c\u201cIn honor of surpassing this milestone, it\u2019s time that we celebrate,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd to the residents of this area, know that we\u2019re not done yet; we\u2019ll continue adding more fiber locations and will remain a long-term partner to this community.\u201d<\/p>\n September 10, 2026 Construction is underway on a fiber network that will extend access to over 10,000 homes and businesses in Bluffton, South Carolina, LiveOak Fiber announced Thursday.<\/p>\n Bluffton, located near Hilton Head Island, has been served by a single dominant provider for years, LiveOak\u2019s release said<\/a>.<\/p>\n As such, Bluffton Mayor Larry Toomer said LiveOak\u2019s entrance to Bluffton is a welcomed sight.<\/p>\n \u201cAs a third-generation Blufftonian, I have watched this town grow from the community I knew as a child, including going to first grade in what is now Town Hall, into one of the fastest-growing places in our region,\u201d said Toomer. \u201cWith that growth comes the responsibility to manage what we have well and make sure our residents, families and small businesses have choices. LiveOak Fiber\u2019s investment gives our community another option for reliable connectivity, and competition helps raise the standard for everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n LiveOak said they expect their first Bluffton customers to be brought online by early 2027.<\/p>\n September 9, 2026 A privately funded investment worth $10 million will fund GoNetspeed\u2019s expansion into Amsterdam, New York.<\/p>\n The expansion, announced Wednesday<\/a>, \u201cwill bring symmetrical, multigigabit internet speeds of up to 6 Gbps to more than 8,700 homes and businesses,\u201d the ISP said.<\/p>\n Construction on the network will begin this winter, GoNetspeed said.<\/p>\n Michael Cinquanti, Amsterdam\u2019s mayor, had comments included with the ISP\u2019s release.<\/p>\n \u201cAmsterdam\u00a0continues to seek strong partners who can strengthen our infrastructure, provide viable service and support options for our residents and local businesses, and create new opportunities,\u201d Cinquanti said.<\/p>\n Amsterdam is located in Montgomery County along the Mohawk River and had a population of over 18,000 in 2020, according to U.S. Census records.<\/p>\n September 8, 2026 Jeff DeMond, the founder of New York-based Archtop Fiber, will be moving on from the CEO role to serve as the company\u2019s executive chairman, the ISP announced Sept. 8<\/a>.<\/p>\n In his place, Archtop\u2019s COO and CFO, Keith Taub, will be elevated to the CEO position.<\/p>\n Taub said he will be honored to build upon the foundation laid by DeMond.<\/p>\n \u201cArchtop has a talented team, a strong culture, and tremendous opportunities ahead,\u201d Taub said. \u201cI look forward to continuing to execute on our strategy and delivering exceptional service to our customers and communities.\u201d<\/p>\n September 3, 2026 Daytona Beach-based Wire 3 says work on its fully funded $100 million fiber network build has surpassed 50 percent completion<\/a> and continues to progress rapidly.<\/p>\n \u201cThough we\u2019re making progress each day, our work is far from over, and we will continue to grow with the needs and demands of the community as technology continues to evolve and reach new limits,\u201d said Jai Ramachandran, Wire 3 CEO. We\u2019re Floridians powering Floridians, and we\u2019re eager to see how life continues to transform in Palm Bay.\u201d<\/p>\n Wire 3 says they expect construction in Palm Bay to be completed by winter 2027.<\/p>\n September 2, 2026 A fully funded $8 million investment will extend GoNetspeed\u2019s fiber-optic network into Carteret, a borough in New Jersey.<\/p>\n The ISP says<\/a> the expansion will deliver symmetrical internet speeds of up to 6 Gbps to more than 6,300 homes and businesses.<\/p>\n GoNetspeed expects construction on the network to begin in the spring of 2027.<\/p>\n \u201cStrong communities are built on strong infrastructure, and reliable fiber internet has become an essential part of that foundation,\u201d said\u00a0Richard Clark, GoNetspeed president and CEO.<\/p>\n The announcement is the latest momentum for GoNetspeed, which just last month celebrated the addition of Norwich, New York<\/a> to their footprint.<\/p>\n September 1, 2026 TDS Telecom says they\u2019ve completed their acquisition of Granite State Communications\u2019 fiber optic and voice operations.<\/p>\n The purchase agreement was first announced in April<\/a>.<\/p>\n TDS Telecom is already well familiar with New Hampshire. The company\u00a0has operated in the state since 1970 and already owns five telephone companies there.<\/p>\n The deal increases the footprint of TDS Telecom by 11,000 fiber service addresses in New Hampshire.<\/p>\n \u201cGranite State customers will not see any immediate change in services, and no action is required on their part,\u201d TDS Telecom announced Sept. 1<\/a>.<\/p>\n Get this news in your inbox.
