{"id":411790,"date":"2026-09-27T04:36:08","date_gmt":"2026-09-27T04:36:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/411790\/"},"modified":"2026-09-27T04:36:08","modified_gmt":"2026-09-27T04:36:08","slug":"10k-steps-miami-celebrates-its-first-year-with-downtown-miami-event-wsvn-7news-miami-news-weather-sports","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/411790\/","title":{"rendered":"\u201910K Steps Miami\u2019 celebrates its first year with Downtown Miami event &#8211; WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">MIAMI (WSVN) &#8211; Women\u2019s exercise club, \u201c10K Steps Miami,\u201d honored its one-year anniversary of providing a safe space for women with a Downtown Miami celebration.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dozens of women gathered at the Sixty Vines wine bar on Saturday for a group walk around Downtown.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The event also featured free food, Nike gear giveaways and prizes for a special halfway-point fitness challenge.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The club\u2019s mission has <a href=\"https:\/\/wsvn.com\/news\/local\/miami-dade\/a-walking-club-for-women-takes-on-a-new-purpose-in-downtown-miami-after-a-woman-was-saved-from-a-brutal-stabbing\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/wsvn.com\/news\/local\/miami-dade\/a-walking-club-for-women-takes-on-a-new-purpose-in-downtown-miami-after-a-woman-was-saved-from-a-brutal-stabbing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">become even more meaningful<\/a> after co-founder, Cassius Bythewood, <a href=\"https:\/\/wsvn.com\/news\/local\/miami-dade\/good-samaritan-reunites-with-woman-he-saved-after-vicious-stabbing-in-downtown-miami-left-her-partially-blind\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">saved a stranger<\/a> from a brutal armed assault in May.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After getting a \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/wsvn.com\/news\/local\/miami-dade\/man-honored-by-miami-police-after-rescuing-woman-from-violent-attack\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/wsvn.com\/news\/local\/miami-dade\/man-honored-by-miami-police-after-rescuing-woman-from-violent-attack\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Hero Award<\/a>\u201d from Miami Police earlier this month, Bythewood was also given an official city proclamation Saturday for the group\u2019s impact in the city.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The event aimed at helping attendees feel safe and empowered, utilizing the club\u2019s standard armed security to ensure the protected environment.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 Sunbeam Television Corp.
