For over a decade Jacksonville has held a walk to End Alzheimer\u2019s at the Commons Park.<\/p>\n
participation was free but people were able to donate online or in person, and this year the Jacksonville community showed out. Raising over forty thousand dollars that will go towards Alzheimer\u2019s research and treatment through the North Carolina Alzheimer\u2019s Association.<\/p>\n
The walk was one mile around the Jacksonville Commons Participant\u2019s were encouraged to carry pinwheel flowers. each flower color representing a different way Alzheimer\u2019s has affected you or your family.<\/p>\n
The Alzheimer\u2019s Association of North Carolina hosts 17 walks across the state but executive director Christine John-Fuller says the turnout in Jacksonville is always impressive<\/p>\n
To see people in a local community like Jacksonville come together to help us do that. The funds we raise here is the largest way in which we fuel our mission.<\/p>\n
