The plus-171 point differential is the largest in UM history through four games. Meanwhile, the 207 points are the most by UM through their first four games since 2024, when the Cam Ward-led Hurricanes put up 209 points in their first four games. It’s the highest completion rate for any FBS quarterback over the past 30 years through the first four games of a season. He is the first FBS quarterback in the last 30 years to have more touchdown passes (14) than incompletions (12) through his first four games.

120: Wide receiver Malachi Toney caught six passes for 120 yards and a touchdown on Saturday. It was Toney’s third 100-yard receiving game of the season and his eighth through 20 career games at UM. Only Xavier Restrepo (with 12 through 51 career games) has had more 100-yard receiving games with the Hurricanes.

9: Mensah through completions to nine players on Saturday: Toney, Cooper Barkate, Vandrevius Jacobs, Elija Lofton, Daylyn Upshaw, Somourian Wingo, Javian Mallory, Jordan Lyle and Girard Pringle Jr.

Miami Hurricanes running back Chris Wheatley-Humphrey (25) reacts after scoring against the Central Michigan Chippewas during the second half at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida, on Saturday, September 26, 2026. Miami is undefeated in those games.

8: Miami had a season-high eight tackles for loss on Saturday after logging just 11 total TFLs through the first three games of the season.

13: The Hurricanes committed 13 penalties on Saturday, tied for the second-most in a game since Mario Cristobal took over in 2022. They also had 13 penalties against FSU last season. The most for a single game in the Cristobal era: 17, done on Oct. 15, 2022, at Virginia Tech.

Ten of the penalties were on Miami’s offense: five false starts, two holdings, one illegal formation, one offensive pass interference and one face mask.

The three on defense were a roughing the passer, a holding and a personal foul.

                Jordan McPherson

                    Miami Herald

Jordan McPherson covers the Miami Hurricanes and Florida Panthers for the Miami Herald.
