{"id":412392,"date":"2026-09-28T00:50:41","date_gmt":"2026-09-28T00:50:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/412392\/"},"modified":"2026-09-28T00:50:41","modified_gmt":"2026-09-28T00:50:41","slug":"patriots-have-few-answers-for-struggles-in-run-game","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/412392\/","title":{"rendered":"Patriots have few answers for struggles in run game"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2014 One week after it looked like the Patriots made some much-needed fixes in the run game, the offense <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bostonherald.com\/2026\/09\/27\/what-we-learned-best-and-worst-from-patriots-embarrassing-36-6-loss-to-jaguars\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">hit rock bottom<\/a> against the Jaguars.<\/p>\n<p>Top running backs TreVeyon Henderson and Rhamondre Stevenson combined to average just 3 yards per carry in the 35-6 loss.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think we knew going in that we were going up against a great run-stop defense, and I think they did a pretty good job. The defense did a pretty good job just executing,\u201d Henderson said. \u201cThey were physical, and they executed really well. I think we just got to come back to practice, and we got to prepare, and the work we put into practice, we got to bring that onto the field and work together.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Henderson ran eight times for 23 yards while Stevenson had seven attempts for 22 yards. Third-stringer Corey Kiner picked up 18 yards on six carries in garbage time.<\/p>\n<p>So, what went wrong?<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not sure.
