JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2014 Jacksonville police said they are seeking someone they believe is responsible for striking a man with multiple gunshots on the Westside on Sunday night.<\/p>\n
At about 7:45 p.m., officers from the Jacksonville Sheriff\u2019s Office responded to the 5600 block of California Avenue for reports of a man being shot. <\/p>\n
Upon arrival, officers located a black male in his mid 40s suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Police said the victim was transported to the hospital, where he was listed in critical but stable condition. <\/p>\n
A preliminary investigation revealed the victim was in a verbal altercation with an unknown individual inside of a residence.<\/p>\n
During the altercation, the suspect displayed a firearm and fired multiple shots in the direction of the victim, striking him multiple times, police said. <\/p>\n
As of Sunday, investigators believe this was an isolated incident and there\u2019s no ongoing threat to the community.<\/p>\n
Crime scene detectives were processing the scene for evidence and detectives were interviewing witnesses, canvassing for video footage, and following up on investigative leads.<\/p>\n
