CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. \u2014 A small plane flying to Jamaica crashed into a pond in Coral Springs on Monday morning, officials said.<\/p>\n
Leer en espa\u00f1ol<\/a><\/p>\n It happened just after 10:15 a.m. within the gated Windsor Bay neighborhood, located southwest of the Sawgrass Expressway and State Road 7.<\/p>\n Video from Sky 10, taken just before 11 a.m., showed a damaged fence and a debris field.<\/p>\n Officials with the city of Fort Lauderdale confirmed that the plane was a Beechcraft King Air B100 headed to Montego Bay for a Hurricane Melissa relief flight. <\/p>\n A dive team was at the scene. Images from Sky 10 also showed an oil slick in the water.<\/p>\n It wasn\u2019t immediately clear whether anyone was injured or killed. The dive team was unable to recover a plane, large plane parts or any possible victims, Coral Springs Fire Department Deputy Chief Mike Moser said.<\/p>\n The plane, manufactured in 1976, was registered to International Air Services, Inc.<\/a> in Carson City, Nevada, according to Federal Aviation Administration data. <\/p>\n International Air Services calls itself \u201ca professional aircraft registration company that specializes in providing individual trust agreements to non-U.S.A. citizens to enable them to legally register their aircraft\u201d with the FAA.<\/p>\n
