If you thought Side Splitters was the only new comedy club coming to St. Petersburg<\/a>, you\u2019ve got another laugh coming. Comedian-turned-club owner Kenny Garcia already has two comedy venues in the Tampa Bay area, and soon he\u2019ll be adding a third.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s pretty cool,\u201d Garcia said about his new club opening in the downtown St. Petersburg area later this year. \u201cI just felt like there was an opportunity in the market.\u201d<\/p>\n

The new Sunshine Comedy Cafe will be located in the Princess Martha building at 443 1st Ave. N, across from the historic post office. It joins Garcia\u2019s Sunshine City Comedy Club on St. Pete Beach<\/a> and Clearwater Comedy Club<\/a> in, as you might expect, Clearwater. Like the other two venues, it will hold shows seven nights a week.<\/p>\n

Garcia said he actually started looking for a location in the area a couple years ago, and considered pivoting to Dunedin at one point. But the right opportunity came up and he\u2019s glad he waited. He plans to keep prices very competitive and hopes people will be able to walk from their apartments to his new club.<\/p>\n

And if you enjoy the casual, boutique-style feel of his existing comedy clubs, expect more of the same at the new one. \u201cCopy and paste, almost exactly the same,\u201d Garcia said. \u201cI like the lounging vibe.\u201d<\/p>\n
