\n\tThere\u2019s a lot going on at this Miami Beach<\/a> penthouse<\/a>, but the easiest place to start is upstairs. The private rooftop is 3,500 square feet\u2014covering more space than the apartment itself\u2014and features a pergola-covered dining area, an outdoor kitchen, a stone bar, and sweeping views of the Atlantic.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe apartment below is 3,357 square feet, offering four bedrooms and more ocean vistas. And if the place looks familiar, that\u2019s because it\u2019s been listed before. Ximena Caminos, the Argentine-born art curator and former Faena Group creative director and partner, put the penthouse on the market in 2024<\/a> for $7.7 million. It didn\u2019t sell.<\/p>\n

\n\tNow, the same owner is trying again, this time asking $6.9 million<\/a>, and with Carl Gambino and Andrew Kardonski of Compass handling the listing. So it\u2019s not a new property so much as a second act for one that has already had a turn on the market.<\/p>\n

\n\tCaminos created the apartment by combining two neighboring units, which she purchased in 2022 for $4.25 million. She approached the interiors much as she approached her other projects in Miami, imbuing them with her signature eclectic style. The living room has a champagne-toned mirrored ceiling, vintage furniture, and a long view straight out to the water. The kitchen is lined in pink onyx and wood, while the bedrooms and hallways are adorned with hand-painted murals by Argentine artist Augusto Falopapas.<\/p>\n

\n\tIt\u2019s a far cry from the typical South Florida<\/a> beach house, with bold artworks, old-fashioned botanical imagery, sculptural furniture, striped lamps, and patterned textiles throughout. That makes sense given Caminos\u2019s background. She was one of the people behind the creation of the Faena District, including Faena Forum, and has long worked across art, design, and hospitality. When Robb Report first covered the penthouse two years ago, the interiors were described as something of a miniature Faena Hotel.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe building has its own history, too. The Caribbean was designed in 1941 by architect L. Murray Dixon, one of the figures who helped give Miami Beach its distinctive Art Deco look. The original hotel on Collins Avenue was later converted to residences and joined with a newer tower.<\/p>\n
