{"id":413708,"date":"2026-09-29T12:37:08","date_gmt":"2026-09-29T12:37:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/413708\/"},"modified":"2026-09-29T12:37:08","modified_gmt":"2026-09-29T12:37:08","slug":"orlando-motorcyclist-killed-in-rear-end-crash-on-colonial-drive","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/413708\/","title":{"rendered":"Orlando motorcyclist killed in rear-end crash on Colonial Drive"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An early evening collision along Colonial Drive claimed the life of a 65-year-old Orlando man after his motorcycle was struck from behind by a pickup truck in Orange County.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Shortly after 7:10 p.m. on Saturday, September 26, Florida Highway Patrol troopers responded to a fatal crash on Colonial Drive, just west of St. Anne Avenue, involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck hauling a trailer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the FHP crash report, both vehicles were traveling westbound in the outside lane of Colonial Drive, with the pickup truck traveling directly behind the motorcycle.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The report stated that the pickup truck\u2019s driver, a 53-year-old Orlando man, \u201cfailed to observe [the motorcycle] ahead.\u201d As a result, the front of the truck collided with the rear of the motorcycle.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 65-year-old motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
