(WSVN) &#8211; Detectives have arrested a man in connection to a <a href=\"https:\/\/wsvn.com\/news\/local\/miami-dade\/mdso-boy-and-girl-critical-after-hit-and-run-driver-hits-e-bike-in-nw-miami-dade\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">hit-and-run crash in Northwest Miami-Dade<\/a> that <a href=\"https:\/\/wsvn.com\/news\/local\/miami-dade\/10-year-old-girl-struck-by-hit-and-run-driver-in-nw-miami-dade-has-died-detectives-say-boy-critical\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">left a 10-year-old girl dead<\/a> and her 15-year-old brother in critical condition.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Arick Metayer was taken into custody on Monday. The 33-year-old suspect faces charges of leaving the scene of a deadly crash and tampering with evidence.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff\u2019s Office Traffic Homicide Unit, Metayer struck the victims\u2019 e-bike on Northwest 117th Street and Northwest Seventh Avenue on Sept. 9.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Detectives said Peyton Williams was riding on the back of the e-bike with her brother, Wilbrent Bain, at the moment of impact. They said Metayer drove off, leaving the siblings helpless.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Peyton succumbed to her injuries at the hospital the following day, and Wilbrent suffered serious injuries. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Metayer remains behind bars.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 Sunbeam Television Corp.
