{"id":414091,"date":"2026-09-29T21:30:12","date_gmt":"2026-09-29T21:30:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/414091\/"},"modified":"2026-09-29T21:30:12","modified_gmt":"2026-09-29T21:30:12","slug":"body-pulled-from-water-at-mayport-boat-ramp-jso-investigating","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/414091\/","title":{"rendered":"Body pulled from water at Mayport Boat Ramp, JSO investigating"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"sc-dLMFU sc-fHjqPf jbiTJv kYFPaL article-text\">DUVAL COUNTY, Fla.  \u2013 Crime scene units responded to the Mayport Boat Ramp Tuesday morning. <\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-dLMFU sc-fHjqPf jbiTJv kYFPaL article-text\">Two JSO crime scene unit vans, several detective vehicles and the Medical Examiner\u2019s Office were also on scene. <\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-dLMFU sc-fHjqPf jbiTJv kYFPaL article-text\">News4JAX could also see what appeared to be a body bag being placed on a stretcher and wheeled to a nearby van. <\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-dLMFU sc-fHjqPf jbiTJv kYFPaL article-text\">We spoke with the man who found the body while on a boat with some of his friends.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-dLMFU sc-fHjqPf jbiTJv kYFPaL article-text\">\u201cMy buddy was driving the boat. I was passenger. I happened to see something odd, had him turn around, and it was a dead body face down,\u201d Jeff Urmance told News4JAX.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-dLMFU sc-fHjqPf jbiTJv kYFPaL article-text\">Urmance said he immediately called the police after the discovery.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-dLMFU sc-fHjqPf jbiTJv kYFPaL article-text\">JSO said at this time, the incident is being investigated as an undetermined death. <\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-dLMFU sc-fHjqPf jbiTJv kYFPaL article-text\">Crews were starting to leave the scene by 12:30 p.m.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-dLMFU sc-fHjqPf jbiTJv kYFPaL article-text\">This is a developing story. <\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 by WJXT News4JAX &#8211; All rights reserved.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"DUVAL COUNTY, Fla. \u2013 Crime scene units responded to the Mayport Boat Ramp Tuesday morning.
