TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Florida State University and Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare have finalized a series of agreements establishing the \u201clong-term framework of FSU Health,\u201d according to TMH.<\/p>\n
The agreements include both operating and lease agreements as well as other definitive legal documents \u201cincluding an academic and clinical framework supporting the partnership at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital and the future FSU Health hospital in Panama City Beach,\u201d the hospital wrote in a press release Wednesday.<\/p>\n
Florida State President Richard McCullough said the announcement marks \u201ca definitive step forward\u201d in their shared vision \u201cto build an academic health system that will serve our community and our state for generations to come.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThrough FSU Health, with Tallahassee Memorial Hospital as its clinical anchor, Florida State University is bringing together the people, expertise and resources needed to improve lives, expand access to advanced care and create new opportunities for medical education and research across North Florida and beyond.\u201d<\/p>\n
Under the agreement, TMH will continue managing day-to-day operations under the FSU Health brand at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, the future Panama City Beach hospital, as well as TMH\u2019s other clinical care locations and TMH Physician Partners, according to the statement.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, patients will continue to receive care from their established physicians, practice providers and nurses.<\/p>\n
Mark O\u2019Bryant, chief executive officer of TMH, said, \u201cfor nearly 80 years, TMH has grown alongside this community, always looking for new ways to bring better care closer to home.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cOur work with FSU, including the academic medical center strategy we developed together in 2021, has created an opportunity to build on that legacy in ways we could not achieve alone.\u201d<\/p>\n
