JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2014 A Jacksonville Sheriff\u2019s Office spokesman said police at about 9:45 p.m. responded to a report of a person shot on San Marco Boulevard in the square.<\/p>\n
Police have erected crime scene tape on San Marco Boulevard near the intersection with Atlantic Boulevard in San Marco Square.<\/p>\n
Several police vehicles and officers congregated in the square gathering information. Shell casings, which provide evidence, have been located and recovered, police said.<\/p>\n
Police released a statement at about 10:50 p.m. regarding the incident, which they consider isolated.<\/p>\n
\u201cDetectives with the Robbery and Violent Crime Unit are actively interviewing witnesses, canvassing for surveillance video, and following up on investigative leads,\u201d the statement read.<\/p>\n
The victim is cooperating. However, police said the suspect is currently unknown to them.<\/p>\n
No other information is available at this time, but Action News Jax sent a crew to cover the shooting in the square, a popular place for dining, shopping and gathering in Jacksonville.<\/p>\n
