Pictures<\/p>\n<p>Edi Gathegi, who sort of stole the show as Mr. Terrific in James Gunn\u2019s \u201cSuperman,\u201d has landed a key role in Joseph Kosinski\u2019s \u201cMiami Vice \u201985\u201d film at Universal Pictures.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-news\/miami-vice-85-casts-superman-star-edi-gathegi-1236717424\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">THR<\/a>, Gathegi will play a small-time crook with big-time ambitions who is in over his head and has a big impact on the film\u2019s story.<\/p>\n<p>Michael B. Jordan plays Ricardo Tubbs, and Austin Butler is James \u2018Sonny\u2019 Crockett in the movie that will explore the glamour and corruption of mid-1980s Miami as it follows two detectives who work undercover.<\/p>\n<p>The project is said to be inspired by the pilot episode and first season of the landmark television series, which Michael Mann produced and was hugely influential on the TV and cultural landscape.<\/p>\n<p>Gathegi joins a cast that also includes Alden Ehrenreich, Whitney Peak, Camila Morrone, Danny Ramirez, John Leguizamo and Andrew Schulz.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTop Gun: Maverick\u201d and \u201cF1\u201d helmer Joseph Kosinski is directing the project that aims to begin production in November and will shoot in New York and Miami.
