Heekin, the United States attorney for the Northern District of Florida.<\/p>\n<p>Cooper appeared in federal court for his arraignment before U.S. Magistrate Judge Martin A. Fitzpatrick in Tallahassee. A jury trial is scheduled for Oct. 26, 2026, at 8:15 a.m. before U.S. District Judge Mark E. Walker in Tallahassee.<\/p>\n<p>If convicted, Cooper faces up to 15 years in prison.<\/p>\n<p>The case is being jointly investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives and the Tallahassee Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Joseph A. Ravelo is prosecuting the case.<\/p>\n<p>An indictment is an allegation by a grand jury and is not evidence of guilt.
