Man accused of trespassing, carrying another person’s birth certificate, prescription in Cape Coral

"LayzaCAPE CORAL, Fla. —

A man was arrested by officers with the Cape Coral Police after they say he trespassed on a property and was in possession of prescription drugs, a credit card and a birth certificate that were not his.

According to an arrest report, officers were traveling south on Country Club Boulevard when they saw a man bicycling on the sidewalk. Officers say they saw him enter the driveway of a home on the 2100 block of Country Club Boulevard.

When officers made contact with the man, he identified himself as David Allen Woolley. Woolley told CCPD that he was stopping to take a break while on his way to Lake Kennedy Park.

After speaking with Woolley, officers said that he was free to leave. Woolley then gave them permission to search his belongings, according to the report.

Officers say they found a bottle of prescription pills that did not belong to Woolley. Woolley told them that he had found the bottle in a trash can somewhere in Cape Coral.

While officers were speaking with Woolley, the owner of the home that they were at pulled into the driveway. She told officers that she did not know Woolley and never gave him permission to enter her property.

The homeowner reviewed Ring camera footage that reportedly showed Woolley entering the front porch of the home and picking up a package that was sitting there. Woolley was seen looking at it and then setting it back down.

While searching Woolley’s wallet, officers say they found a Sam’s Club card and a birth certificate that did not belong to him. Woolley told CCPD that he knew the owner of the items back in New York. Woolley said that the person disappeared one day, so he was keeping those items safe.

Woolley was arrested and faces charges of burglary, possession of drugs without a prescription and fraud.
