{"id":417256,"date":"2026-10-02T23:56:06","date_gmt":"2026-10-02T23:56:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/417256\/"},"modified":"2026-10-02T23:56:06","modified_gmt":"2026-10-02T23:56:06","slug":"man-says-rolex-wedding-ring-was-stolen-at-miami-gym-as-police-investigate-possible-theft-ring-wsvn-7news-miami-news-weather-sports","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/417256\/","title":{"rendered":"Man says Rolex, wedding ring was stolen at Miami gym as police investigate possible theft ring &#8211; WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">MIAMI (WSVN) &#8211; A South Florida man said he was the victim of a ritzy ripoff while working out at an Anatomy gym, adding another reported theft to an ongoing investigation into gyms across the area.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The man, who asked not to be identified, said this incident occurred on Sept. 16 at the Anatomy in Coconut Grove.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He said he lost his Rolex, wedding ring, and a bracelet.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI just want some light shown on the situation,\u201d said the victim.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He contacted 7News about his case after watching the exclusive report about a series of thefts at Anatomy gyms and other locations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt\u2019s a large-scale issue, not just an isolated incident,\u201d the victim said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Police in Miami and Miami Beach are investigating multiple reported thefts that authorities believe may be connected to an organized group targeting specific locations and victims carrying expensive jewelry.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It remains unclear if investigators believe the incident in Coconut Grove is connected to the same suspect or group.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But this latest reported theft comes days after authorities arrested a <a href=\"https:\/\/wsvn.com\/news\/local\/miami-dade\/17-year-old-who-targeted-pricey-watches-including-11k-rolex-at-south-florida-gyms-is-in-custody-police-say\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">17-year-old in connection <\/a>with an alleged February theft at an Anatomy gym.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to Miami Beach Police, the teen stole a Rolex from a locker after using a master key to open it. Police said he had the master key in his pocket when they caught him outside an Anatomy gym in Miami\u2019s Midtown neighborhood.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Detectives believe the teenager could be responsible for additional thefts and are continuing to investigate.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As for the Coconut Grove victim, he said he\u2019s cooperating with authorities, but they haven\u2019t told him whether they believe the same teen suspect was responsible for his theft.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Police sources say the 17-year-old suspect was released earlier this week from a juvenile facility in Miami-Dade County.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While police have made one arrest, investigators said the broader investigation into the reported gym thefts is ongoing.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 Sunbeam Television Corp.
