They’re gourmet. These are fluffy donuts, and just the community just likes these type of donuts. It’s like they want something different. They don’t want your typical Dunkin’ or any other type of donut that you would find here in Cape.”

The shop has also made community involvement a big part of its business, working with local schools and sports teams through events and fundraisers.

“We have definitely been a big part of the community. We do what we call spirit nights with elementary schools, and every event that we attend or we are part of, we always give back a percentage of the sales for that day,” owner Cedric Williams said.

Like many local restaurants, Yonutz has felt the slowdown that comes with the summer months. The owners are hoping to bring more people through the doors while continuing to be a place where the community can gather.

Williams said the goal goes beyond just selling donuts.

“We want to give to the community, and again, in these times, sometimes we need laughter and happiness and fun.
