Join international bestselling author and award-winning Passion Struck host John R. Miles on Tuesday, October 6, at the St. Petersburg Museum of History to launch his new book, The Mattering Effect: Creating a Life of Meaning and Worth.

Modern life has built environments that measure what we produce, perform, and deliver, while frequently overlooking who we are. Rather than a traditional lecture, this evening is an open, community-centered discussion examining the human need to be seen, known, and valued.

The program features opening remarks by Museum Executive Director Rui Farias, followed by an in-depth conversation moderated by Emmy Award-winning journalist and FOX 13 news anchor Linda Hurtado-Figueredo.

At the heart of the evening is a question that is both deeply personal and universally human: Do I matter? Why can someone be deeply needed, constantly giving, and surrounded by people—yet still feel completely unseen? John will explore these questions in an intimate, candid conversation with a special guest interviewer, followed by audience Q&A and a reception and book signing.

Come for the book. Stay for the conversation. Leave with a question worth carrying with you: What would change in your life if you truly believed you mattered?

Schedule: Doors open at 6:00 PM for light snacks, beverages, and gathering; the conversation begins at 6:30 PM, followed by Q&A and signing.

Admission: Open to the public. Advance RSVP is recommended due to limited museum gallery capacity.
