CORAL GABLES, Fla. –\u00a0North Florida Swimming opened its 2026-27 season against Miami (Fla.) and Ohio on Oct. 2-3 at Whitten Center Pool in Coral Gables, Fla.<\/p>\n

UNF would compete in 14 total events on Friday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

For the Ospreys, junior Reeves Showfety<\/a>, senior Ashley Kirby<\/a>, senior Kayla Daley<\/a> and junior Abby Noga<\/a> earned a second-place finish in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:45.97.<\/p>\n

Kirby would earn another podium finish with a 1:04.51 time in the 100 breaststroke to earn a second-place finish.<\/p>\n

North Florida would close out the weekend competing in seven events on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Kirby would post a personal-best time of 29.18 to win the 50 breaststroke with sophomore Kendall Hudgens<\/a> posting a time of 30.33 to place third.<\/p>\n

Junior Caroline Costantini<\/a> and senior Amanda Ulicny<\/a> each made their Osprey debuts as incoming transfers. Freshman Payton Griffin<\/a>, freshman Caroline Hughes<\/a> and freshman Shelby Kolton<\/a> all made their collegiate debuts.<\/p>\n

“Friday afternoon was all about executing the details we’ve been focusing on in practice every day,” Head Coach Lindsey McKnight<\/a> said. “Our team did a great job committing to their race plans, competing with confidence and stepping up against two strong teams.”<\/p>\n

“Today was a fun way to close out the weekend, with an emphasis on sprint events and some non-traditional relays. Overall, it was a great opportunity for us to test where we are in our training and continue building toward the season ahead.”\u00a0<\/p>\n
