MIAMI GARDENS, FLA. (WSVN) – More than a week after 68-year-old Shekina Dellmar-Donaldson was killed, her family is still searching for answers.<\/p>\n
The victim\u2019s brother, Arthur Dellmar, says they\u2019re \u201ctrying to find out what happened to our sister.\u201d<\/p>\n
Miami Gardens Police say Dellmar-Donaldson was struck by a car and killed just before midnight on Sept. 21 along Northwest 199th Street.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey hit her and kept going,\u201d said Cupid Everett, the victim\u2019s sister.<\/p>\n
The driver never stopped, and fled the scene.<\/p>\n
\u201cNow, who ran her over?\u201d Dellmar asked.<\/p>\n
Police are looking for a gray 2022 to 2025 Tesla Model Y or Model 3. The tag is unknown.<\/p>\n
Police say the car should have damage to the front passenger side, including a missing wheel well trim and plastic cover.<\/p>\n
For her family, the loss is devastating.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe heard she was hit by a car, and we have had no evidence of what went on with her,\u201d said Dellmar. \u201cAll we know is she\u2019s at the Wright Funeral Home right now.\u201d<\/p>\n
They remember Dellmar-Donaldson as someone who was active in her community and involved with local schools.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe was a person who had multiple things that she\u2019d done in the neighborhood,\u201d Dellmar said.<\/p>\n
Everett recalled Dellmar-Donaldson worked on a travelling exhibit of African-American history with her non-profit Kinad, Inc., saying \u201cshe did many things with the schools.\u201d<\/p>\n
Dellmar-Donaldson\u2019s family is hoping someone saw something in the incident that night that will help police find the driver.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe know someone saw something because it was in broad daylight,\u201d said Dellmar. \u201cPlease, if you know anything, please contact the police.\u201d<\/p>\n
Miami Gardens Police are asking anyone with information about the vehicle or driver to come forward.<\/p>\n
The investigation remains ongoing.<\/p>\n
