\n\tOrlando Bloom<\/a>, who will be attending the Venice Film Festival<\/a> as part of the cast of Warner Herzog\u2019s competition title \u201cBucking Fastard<\/a>,\u201d is set to be feted on the Lido with the Filming Italy International Award from Filming Italy \u2014 Los Angeles, the event that bridges Italy and Hollywood.<\/p>\n

\n\tBloom will receive the award, which is not connected to the Venice Film Festival, on Sept. 6.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt is a great honor for us to welcome Orlando Bloom to the latest edition of the Filming Italy Venice Award,\u201d said marketing guru and longtime Italian industry promoter Tiziana Rocca in a statement. Rocca, who heads Filming Italy and also leads the Taormina Film Festival, praised Bloom as \u201can actor of extraordinary charisma, capable of captivating audiences around the world with his elegance, talent and versatility,\u201d noting that he has \u201cachieved international fame thanks to his participation in two of the greatest film sagas of all time: \u2018The Lord of the Rings\u2019 and \u2018Pirates of the Caribbean.’\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tBloom recently appeared in Sean Ellis\u2019 boxing thriller \u201cThe Cut,\u201d which he also produced through his production company Amazing Owl, and crime comedy caper \u201cDeep Cover,\u201d a Prime Video U.K. Original movie directed by Tom Kingsley.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn \u201cBucking Fastard,\u201d Bloom plays Gareth Mulroney, the lover of inseparable, synchronized sisters Jean and Joan Holbrooke (played by real-life sisters Kate and Rooney Mara) whom they obsess over after becoming tabloid sensations, according to the film\u2019s synopsis.<\/p>\n
