That same system is also ramping up storm activity over the Isthmus of Tehuantepec in southern Mexico.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-dLMFU sc-fHjqPf jbiTJv kYFPaL article-text\">A surface trough stretches from southeast Louisiana down through the central Bay of Campeche. Winds east of that trough axis are running mostly fresh out of the southeast, while areas to the west are seeing lighter, gentler winds.
