PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (CBS12) — A 51-year-old Port St. Lucie man was arrested after police said a 16-year-old relative accused him of sexually assaulting her multiple times inside their shared home.

Jean Emile Revange faces three felony counts of sexual battery on a person between the ages of 12 and 17 without physical force likely to cause serious injury, according to a Port St. Lucie Police Department arrest affidavit.

The investigation began Sept. 26 after police were notified about allegations involving a teen receiving treatment at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center.

According to the affidavit, the teen’s family had taken her to a hospital after she complained of severe abdominal and pelvic pain. During treatment, she disclosed that Revange, who is her father’s cousin, had sexually assaulted her, investigators said.

Police said Revange, his wife, the teen and several other relatives lived together in the same Port St. Lucie home.

During an interview at the hospital and a subsequent forensic interview at the Children’s Advocacy Center, the teen repeatedly identified Revange as the person who assaulted her, according to the affidavit.

Investigators said the teen had cognitive and developmental limitations that affected how she communicated. Police ended their initial detailed questioning so a specially trained forensic interviewer could speak with her.

The teen described multiple alleged assaults in different parts of the home. She could not provide exact dates but believed at least one occurred Sept. 22 or Sept. 23, according to the affidavit.
