A man was hospitalized with a gunshot wound after a domestic dispute early Sunday morning at a Jacksonville apartment complex, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

Officers responded around 12:50 a.m. to the Edge at Town Center Apartments at 3544 St. Johns Bluff Road South in reference to a person shot.

When officers arrived, they found a man in his mid-40s suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper leg. Jacksonville Fire and Rescue transported the victim to a local hospital, where his injuries were listed as non-life-threatening.

Investigators believe the shooting was an isolated incident and said there is no ongoing threat to the community.

The suspect, described as a woman in her late 30s, is in police custody and is being interviewed by detectives.
