Confession time: I\u2019ve been to Howl-O-Scream<\/a> at SeaWorld before, and previously, I walked right past the haunted houses. Too scared. I\u2019d do the rides, grab a drink, enjoy the atmosphere but nope out of every house. This time was different. This time I did all five. And I\u2019m so glad I did. Let\u2019s chat!\u00a0<\/p>\n

\"Howl<\/p>\n

If You\u2019re Nervous, This Is Your Event<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s what I want my fellow scaredy-cats to know: Howl-O-Scream is the perfect way to break yourself in to these kinds of scary events.
It\u2019s scarier than Mickey\u2019s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party<\/a> at Magic Kingdom. Theres no question about that. But, it\u2019s not like the high intensity of Halloween Horror Nights<\/a> across the freeway at Universal Orlando. The houses startle you, they don\u2019t terrorize you. Nobody can touch you. And there\u2019s something about getting through that first house and realizing \u201cokay, I survived that\u201d that makes the next one easier. By house five, I felt like a different person, and was pretty proud of myself honestly. If you\u2019ve been telling yourself you\u2019re \u201cnot a haunted house person,\u201d this event might change your mind. It changed mine.<\/p>\n

\"The<\/a>The Five Houses<\/p>\n

I did every single one! \u00a0I Know What You Did Last Summer: The Final Catch, Everything Must Stay, The Rave Yard, The Dark Net, and The Crawl Space. Each one felt different, which kept it interesting instead of repetitive. The I Know What You Did Last Summer house is the big IP one this year, and it lives up to the hype. I\u2019d say that one scared me the most. As a person who loves dance music, The Rave Yard was just plain fun, not scary. Everything Must Stay was probably my favorite. Picture yourself going to a real estate open house, just a bit of a murderous one. It was great.<\/p>\n

\"Howl<\/p>\n

More Than Just Houses<\/p>\n

What I love about Howl-O-Scream is that it\u2019s a full night out, not just a house-to-house sprint:<\/p>\n

\u2022 Food and drink booths everywhere. Lots of options, and the drinks are worth working into your night.
\u2022 A show to catch your breath between scares.
\u2022 Scare zones that honestly weren\u2019t too bad. Fair warning though, a lot of the scares come from sudden noise, so if you\u2019re sensitive to that, keep your guard up walking through.<\/p>\n

The Verdict<\/p>\n

I walked in as someone who had never done a single haunted house here. I walked out having done five. If I can do it, you can do it.<\/p>\n

Howl-O-Scream is scary enough to get your heart pounding and fun enough that you\u2019ll be laughing about it on the drive home. For anyone who\u2019s been curious but nervous, this is your sign. Go.<\/p>\n
