(WSVN) &#8211; A man is dead after <a href=\"https:\/\/wsvn.com\/news\/local\/miami-dade\/it-happened-like-a-movie-2-seen-jumping-from-windows-during-shooting-in-north-miami-gated-community-1-hospitalized\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">a shooting at an apartment complex in North Miami<\/a>\u00a0turned into an abduction, with two men jumping out of a window and fleeing the scene.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The incident took place along the 14000 block of Biscayne Boulevard just after midnight on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">7News cameras captured North Miami Police officers as they responded to reports of gunfire. Investigators believe 22-year-old Eddrick Bethune was abducted from this apartment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A resident recorded cellphone video that captures the sound of several gunshots, followed by two men jumping from a broken window.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One witness said that he heard at least 20 shots.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dollar bills were seen strewn across the grass near the broken window at the scene.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hours later, and over 40 miles away, the investigation took a tragic turn after Miami-Dade Sheriff\u2019s Office officials said that one of their captains found an unresponsive man near Southwest 216th Street and 189th Avenue.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The man, who investigators said matched the description of Bethune, had suffered gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Additionally, investigators said they found a car that had been set on fire in the area of Southwest 248th Street and 157th Avenue.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Investigators said that the vehicle was intentionally torched and matched the vehicle driven by the abductors.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Back at the apartment complex, locals shared what happened after the chaotic incident.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt was like a little bit shocking. I\u00a0just heard the gunshots, and then like a glass shatter, and then a lot of water started coming down, and then we heard the alarm going on,\u201d said resident Diana Sovalvarro.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI would like to know what\u2019s going on,\u201d said a woman who lives in the building. \u201cIt makes me very scared.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A man who asked not to be identified or show his face on camera said he slept in his truck all night.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cNo, sir, I\u2019ve never been stuck outside my apartment for seven hours plus,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Authorities asked anyone with information on this incident to come forward.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 Sunbeam Television Corp.
